What We Did
We designed and implemented an enterprise-grade API Gateway and API Management capability as a cornerstone of the digital and omnichannel strategy. The engagement covered end-to-end API lifecycle management, security enforcement, traffic governance, and seamless integration with both legacy OSS/BSS systems and modern digital platforms.
We defined the target-state API architecture and implemented gateway policies including authentication, authorization, and traffic shaping. API catalogs and developer onboarding mechanisms were established to enable secure and controlled consumption by internal applications, partners, and external ecosystems. The solution supported synchronous and asynchronous interactions and was engineered for high availability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.

AXIR Approach
The project began with a detailed diagnostic of existing integration patterns, focusing on point-to-point interfaces, backend dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and security gaps. We mapped critical business journeys to underlying services to identify where APIs could reduce coupling and accelerate digital delivery.
Based on this analysis, AXIR designed an API-first architecture aligned with telecom standards and microservices principles. We evaluated API management platforms, security frameworks (including OAuth2 and token-based access), and deployment options to ensure scalability, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience.
Strong emphasis was placed on API governance. We introduced standards for versioning, documentation, monitoring, and analytics, enabling controlled service exposure while maintaining visibility on usage, performance, and risk. This governance framework ensured APIs could evolve safely alongside business needs.
